The Elephants (Italy) by Antonio Maria Castaldo
On a cold and dark night along a country road, a vehicle veers off the road and plunges into a ravine. Rescuers must act promptly to save Andrea, the driver, who is trapped inside the car. During the rescue, the personal challenges of Carlo and Luca, two team members, come to light. Carlo, experienced and composed, must manage the pressure of the rescue and help Luca, a firefighter going through a tough time in his life, to overcome his fears. As time passes and the operation becomes increasingly complex, touching details of Andrea's life emerge, leading the rescuers to reflect on the need for a human and empathetic approach to unlock the situation. Ultimately, a gesture from Luca provides a moment of comfort to Andrea, crucial for resolving the crisis.
